Rezhound 2.0

Years ago, I was one of countless diners who relied on Rezhound to secure reservations at some of the most coveted restaurants in town. Reed Kavner created something incredibly useful, clever, and generous, and I personally enjoyed many memorable meals because of it.

Inspired by Reed's ingenuity and generosity (and the excitement he described when his code first worked), I've decided to embark on my own coding journey. I'm not an engineer, but Reed's example has encouraged me to create something new, enjoyable, and personally rewarding. In homage to the original service that helped inspire me, I'm launching my own independent project that captures the spirit of what made Rezhound so helpful and enjoyable.

To be clear, this project is entirely my own, built from scratch purely as a learning exercise and for the joy of dining well. It does not aim to replace or recreate Reed's original work. Instead, it's a tribute to the inspiration Reed provided—not just for securing reservations, but for encouraging others to explore coding as well.

I encourage everyone who enjoyed or benefited from the original Rezhound to read Reed Kavner's thoughtful farewell letter. And, as Reed suggested, please consider donating to No Kid Hungry, a fantastic organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America.

Residential Proxy

Use DataImpulse residential proxy for scraping

When enabled, all Playwright-based scraping traffic will be routed through DataImpulse's residential proxy network. This helps avoid rate limiting and makes our traffic appear more organic.

OpenTable Mobile API

Force the mobile API for all OpenTable restaurants

Extra tokens (optional, one per line)

OpenTable's modern /r/ restaurant pages are blocked for our server, so they always use OpenTable's mobile API. Legacy OpenTable pages keep using the normal browser scraper, with the mobile API as an automatic fallback. Tick the box above to force the mobile API for every OpenTable restaurant. A built-in anonymous token is used by default — only add a token here if you receive a "tokens rejected" alert (see OPENTABLE_TOKEN_CAPTURE.md). This setting only affects OpenTable.
